It's been over a year since I started yoga. Aug 26th 2013 was the day I committed to yoga. The first two weeks was hard. I did not know if I had to keep going or try something different. Jumping to two months ahead, I started to see a change in my body. My clothes were loose and had to get new clothes which is a good thing. I had to change my salt content and stopped drinking soda.
The more I committed myself to yoga, the more I got excited about the compliments I get from people. Plus I get to meet more women too. I seen other guys that come there to impress women for a few days and then they quit. If guys commit to yoga, they will meet the most wonderful women they can find.
I reached my goal of a headstand after 6 months of practice on the sand. That was my first attempt. I knew the planks, chairs and side planks helped me alot. A month ago, I decided to go for a handstand next to the door and I was able to hold it for a few seconds.
The beauty of yoga is the poses you think you cannot do but with commitment, it is possible to do. It is not just being able to do the poses that matter, but the part of breathing, meditation, commitment and eating right all contribute to success.
I am grateful to my instructors for helping me reach my physical goals. I want to work on my yoga teaching certification in Canada once I get my projects going. There is more to learn as I do yoga and who knows, I might meet that special woman of my dreams along the way.
